WhatsApp Wear OS feature: More than 2 billion people use WhatsApp worldwide. Whether it is mobile, desktop or tablet, WhatsApp is used on all. Now the company is going to give people the option of running WhatsApp on smartwatches as well. Meta has made the ‘wear OS’ feature live for some beta testers. To use this feature, you have to enroll for WhatsApp beta.
According to wabetainfo, a website that monitors the development of WhatsApp, the company has released a feature called ‘wear os’ for all smartwatches that run on this operating system. To link WhatsApp to the smartwatch, people will get an 8 digit code in the watch which they will have to enter on the mobile. By doing this, WhatsApp chats and messages will be synced to the smartwatch. After this is done, users will be able to reply to messages and listen to or send voicenotes without taking the phone out of the pocket.
The good thing is that the messages sent from the smartwatch will also be end-to-end encrypted. That means your privacy will remain.
Android users will soon get this feature
Meta is going to give Android users the misscall alert feature already present on iOS. In fact, in iOS, WhatsApp users see misscalls in red color in the ‘call section’. A similar feature will now be available to Android users as well and they too will be able to identify misscalls separately. Apart from this, Meta is going to provide WhatsApp users with many new features like chat lock, voice note on status, community channel feature for iOS etc. this year. The sole aim of the company is to provide better experience to the people on the app.
